Title: calculating mineral atoms per unit formula spreadsheets
Post by: Ben Buse on October 15, 2018, 08:02:58 AM
Hi,

Does anyone have copies of spreadsheets which used to be hosted on the OU EPMA webpage. Including Andy Tindle's Probe-AMph.

I have Giles Droop: Spinel FU calculations - attached

For garnets and amphiboles, I would highly recommend Andrew Locock's excellent spreadsheets (attached).

Garnets:
Locock, A.J., 2008. An Excel spreadsheet to recast analyses of garnet into end-member components, and a synopsis of the crystal chemistry of natural silicate garnets. Computers & Geosciences, 34(12), pp.1769-1780.

and for Amphibole:

Amphibole
Locock, A.J., 2014. An Excel spreadsheet to classify chemical analyses of amphiboles following the IMA 2012 recommendations. Computers & Geosciences, 62, pp.1-11.
