Title: Scalers.dat error
Post by: emma_fisi on September 06, 2024, 12:05:10 PM
I am having an issue with Probe Image that is probably easy to fix, but it's defeating me today.

When I try to acquire a map, I am getting the message: "Error: J8230Probe::Open() scalers.dat data does not match Probe Image settings (# spectros)." The path is the same as it ever was (C:\ProgramData\Probe Software\Probe for EPMA\scalers.dat), and nothing has changed as far as I am aware.

Any clues? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Em

If you're absolutely sure that the scalars.dat file is correct then I would take a look at the settings in the probe image settings menu (Setup | Probe Image Setup), and make sure that the number of the spectrometers is correct. I don't know why it would've changed.

Double check that the scalars.dat in the path is the correct scalars.dat file (C:\ProgramData\Probe Software\Probe for EPMA).

I checked several times, and the pathway did appear to be correct. And the number of spectrometers definitely hadn't changed! In the end, I updated Probe for EPMA and Probe Image, and rebooted the computer, and it seems to be working fine again now. I have been able to collect a map, with no error messages. Maybe just a gremlin in my computer system?
