Hi all.
We have various staff advocating to 'prime' the glass of the carbon coater to make it easier to clean. Some say smear some soap on the glass, I've myself in the past been using a thin film of vacuum oil. I'm a little concerned with soap getting into the turbo pump. What's the trick of the trade in your lab?

Dries in less time than it takes to load up the coater, and doesn't seem to affect vacuum that I can tell.
I've tried other similar lubricants, but the others I've tried don't spray on nearly as evenly. This stuff goes on like spray paint, so it isn't splotchy and drippy.
It's also great for sticky door locks and the gears on my spectrometer motors...
Once we ran out of Bell Bright, we bought Sprayon MR311 Dry Release Agent, as recommended in another thread, and it worked well, maybe just as well as Bell Bright :)
And you can get it at local manufacturing hardware stores, even here in Canada.
