I got a strange email from academia.edu this last week:

which claims that "An AI created a podcast of your paper", though actually it's just a short abstract I published in 2013.
Has anyone else seen this sort of thing from Academia.edu? The odd part is that when I listened to the podcast, it didn't sound like an AI, in fact the voice says "This is Richard Price, CEO of Academia.edu", so why say "an AI created..."!? And also it was a bit disorganized and rambling too. Take a listen and tell us whether you think this was an AI voice...

What would the purpose of this sort of thing be about? I think it's pretty weird... oh, and here's the original abstract:
