Hi has anyone managed to read the .art file saved with the images from Jurgen Boerder Specimen Navigator. I'm trying to read the 3 point calibration stored with the image.

Also is it possible to overlay points acquired with JEOL software into Specimen Navigator. I know you can go the other direction from Navigator to JEOL software,

You might want something like this, https://github.com/gcarmix/HexWalk, a hex editor/binary file visualizer to assist you in decoding the contents of the file.  (There are many other alternatives but basically they allow you to try various different encodings for each byte/array of bytes in the file to reverse engineer the file format.)

Could you share the .art file? I would like to check its binary format.
