In addition to scientific papers, Probe for EPMA is used for the classification of Antarctic meteorites collected by the ANSMET program. The ANSMET program – a tri-agency agreement between NASA, NSF and the Smithsonian – collects and curates meteorites from Antarctica, similar to expeditions run by Japanese and Chinese teams. The materials is characterized, and made available to scientific research institutions around the globe. Many new and rare meteorites have been discovered this way, including ALH 84001 (the [in]famous Martian meteorite).

If one checks the first post in this topic you can see that in 2015 we had 98 results from Google Scholar using the search string "Probe for EPMA". At that time we had more hits (188) using the search string "Probe for Windows", which was the old product name.
So we checked again last week, using the string "Probe for EPMA", and now we get 437 results from Google Scholar as seen here:

And searching once more using the obsolete term "Probe for Windows", we now get 256 results in Google Scholar, which means that some people are continuing to reference the obsolete product name. I'm sure that no one on this user forum is making that mistake! ;D
Here's a paper we did on Br in glass and scapolite. Required running PFE pretty hard, including specified concentrations, aggregate intensities, multiple setups, MAN backgrounds, and quantitative mapping. Should be somewhat relevant for any similar work on sensitive samples while going for low detection limits.
