Hello everyone,

I'm working on a project in CASINO 3D, but I'm having some trouble creating the geometry I need.
I need to create a sample with a hole on the surface, but the "cutting" function doesn't appear in my version (3.3.04). I found a user manual that clearly shows this function, so I'm not sure if I'm missing something.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Do I need to download a different version? I haven't been able to find any information about it.

Thanks in advance!

I don't tend to use Casino 3 as it doesn't include x-rays. You might want to give MC X-ray a go, I believe it can do complex geometries https://montecarlomodeling.mcgill.ca/software/mcxray/mcxray.html or alternatively PENEPMA http://www.geology.wisc.edu/~johnf/g777/777Penelope/PENEPMA-Madison.pdf, or DTSA (via command line for complex geometries) https://academic.oup.com/mam/article/28/6/1905/6995577

Me too.
MC X-Ray for complicated X-Ray generation in multiphase interaction volumes.
Penepma for "simple" geometries that you need to account for secondary fluorescence between phases.

Both will be very scary as it makes you less certain of anything you do in the area of microanalysis. Especially when you punch through one phase and into another as the substrate becomes a micro XRF.
