Pathfinder Can't open .ps files when creating standard

Hello, I'm using ThermoScientific Pathfinder to collect and evaluate EDS data.
When I try to create a standard from a point measurement, I get the error: Can't open .ps file.
The *.p_s file is in the project folder. And I can select it in the Standard Wizard.
Does it need to be in a different folder?
I also can't open the .p_s files via Files-Open.

Does anybody have a solution for that problem? It keeps me from creating a standard.

Pathfinder version is 1.3 and the EDS detector Model No. is Thermo Scientific ANAX-30E-A

The current Pathfinder version is 2.12, so the first thing I would do is update the software.

Email Steve Seddio and he can send you a download link:

The only stupid question is the one not asked!

Hi AntonAn,

You are welcome to update Pathfinder (and I recommend doing so), but it will not solve your immediate issue.

You need to bring your Point ID spectra into spectrum mode.
You can do this either by loading the spectrum in Point ID mode, Switching to Spectrum Mode, and clicking the Save button (or Ctrl+S).
Or, if you want to do this with many spectra, it could be easier to do this in windows file explorer.
1. open the .PS.EDS folder in Windows File Explorer.
2. Copy the .psmsa file or files that you want to use for standardization.
3. Paste them up one level into the Project folder.
4. Rename the .psmsa files to .emsa files.

Let me know if you need additional support with this.
Your friendly, neighborhood, EPMA-minded EDS guy.
