Hi John,

Can I request that we have the current version of Probe Image written on the website as text.  Then we can all see at a glance if we are running the latest and greatest as we do with Probe for EPMA.   ;D

Hi Gareth,
Yes and already done!  Thanks, good idea.

The avatar is Gilgamesh.  I thought the Epic of Gilgamesh was really cool when I was doing my PhD.  I also like the modern interpretation by Derrek Hines which is well worth a read (http://www.amazon.com/Gilgamesh-Derrek-Hines/dp/1400077338).

Hi there,
Would it be possible to post the version changes for the PI versions somewhere? I am getting confused with all the 0.9.9.XXXX versions. Also, it would be handy to know what is the latest version of the Matrix component.

Thanks
Philipp

Hi Philipp,
We post the current version numbers of our software here:

Note that the Matrix, CalcZAF and PFE versions all change together.

Hi John,

about the version numbers, yes, that is very helpful. However, I do not see how PfE and Matrix go together.

My Probe Image tells me "Startup: Matrix Analysis plugin version 0.9.9.1713 loaded." That does not sound like a PfE version number. Is that the latest version?

Also, I was asking for a changelog. For PfE it is very handy to see what has been changed. For PI this info is missing.

Would it be possible to post a changelog for PI?

Thanks
Philipp

Hi Philipp,
OK, for PI we can start generating a change log for future releases. Right now that information is buried in the source version control so we will have to bring that info out.

As for the Matrix plugin that is simply a PI thing (it manages the Matrix Active X COM control) and the first three digits (right now 0.9.9.x) should match the other PI components.

If you are interested in learning more about the Matrix COM server that topic is here:

Hi John,

ok, thanks for the info. It would be great to see what is happening on PI.

So, do I understand correctly: The important thing to update is PI? Do I have to care that this Matrix plugin is up to date too?

Cheers
Philipp

The Matrix plugin version is managed by Probe Image, so no worries there. If the Matrix COM server gets updated (not likely), Probe Image will notify you that it needs to be updated.

Probe Image no longer utilizes the Matrix COM interface. But if you would like to discuss the Matrix COM server itself, for use in accessing all CalcZAF matrix correction physics models, including Penepma derived polynomial alpha factors, please see this board:
