Glad you asked!

The practical purpose of the Matrix Common Object Model (COM) Server is to provide a source of EPMA physics for Probe Image, including on the fly calculations of polynomial alpha factors based on any number of physics models from ZAF to phi-rho-Z to Monte-Carlo to empirically measured k-ratios.

The truth is, that the Matrix COM Server can also provide these functions for the integration of EPMA physics functions in any COM aware application such as Excel or Matlab.

Attached is the documentation which some  might find useful for a number of quantitative projects.
