Thermo Pathfinder support

[UofO EPMA Lab]

I heard from a little bird that Thermo/FEI will no longer be selling Pathfinder after Jan 1st except to Thermo/FEI (SEM/TEM/FIB) instruments.  Two questions:

1. Will Thermo/FEI still continue to support and develop Pathfinder for existing EPMA instruments?

2. Since Thermo/FEI does not produce an EPMA instrument, might they be willing to sell Pathfinder for EPMA instruments?
